Participants get to share ideas and drafts, discuss research techniques and writing skills, and, under supervision, hone their academic craft. Curriculum

The purpose of this online workshop is to develop the student’s thread of research, then, assisting in a muse’s way, linking objects of inquiry. This online seminar should be regarded as a developmental phase. We will find more concise and practical applications when we meet on-site for the
.

Each of the six seminar meetings will develop one of these threads:

  • Developing a thread
  • Identifying objects of inquiry
  • Synergetic incorporation — threading objects
  • Drafting
  • Peer to peer (interlocution)
  • Drafting revisions

By “thread” I mean the primary, personal incentive to research which would hopefully be nudged forth by our philosopher in the “academic seminar” — with emphases on the students own unique, idiomatic quality.

The thread is not a thesis. Students are tasked to find analogous opportunities or enterprise with other knowledge domains. Let’s imagine I am an IT manager and I want to study consciousness so i can grasp the idea of sentient AI. Thus I’d consider consciousness in a variety of ways, traditions, contents, religions, etc. Students are encouraged to engage with each other as muses and co-inspirators.

Once the student has developed a interlinkage, a webbing of the thread — they are tasked to draft; to write. This second part of the series will emphasise technique — to write naturally — writing from what you know about your topic without references. Emphases here is on deep embodiment which makes for better writing and rhetoric. Writing without reference simply means don’t look at the screen, books etc., drafting should never be stressful, posturing or concern the element of a personae other than the knowledge embodied. Peer to peer would then concern issues or questions that may arise, interlocution to drive forward the critical maintenance of the thing. Revisions is the final stage to prepare for the
